Angolan female painter awarded an honorary diploma at a collective international exhibition held in Russia

Between March 3 and 13, Moscow hosted the Collective International Exhibition SPRING IS HOPE arranged by the Moscow Women's Association «IRIDA». During the closing ceremony of this international arts' forum attended by 147 female 'ministers of fine arts' from many countries, the Angolan painter Fineza Teta's works were awarded an HONORARY DIPLOMA IN THE FIELD OF PAINTING. The exhibition's official closing ceremony attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Republic of Angola in the Russian Federation General Roberto Leal Ramos Monteiro “Ngongo”, marked the completion of the activities programme within the framework of the Feminine Culture Week of March 2005 organized by the Angolan Diplomatic Mission in Russia on the occasion of celebrations devoted to March 2 as the Angolan Woman's Day and March 8 as the International Women's Day.

Besides the exhibition of works of fine arts, the Feminine Culture Week included the academic conference «Role played by Angolan women in the 30 years of the country's independence» conducted at the Foreign Literature Library in Moscow.

In the course of that activity, the audience listened to reports by Angolan female intellectuals - writer Cho do Guri, painter Fineza Teta, film director Maria Joao Ganga (her report was delivered by actress Pulqueria Van-Dunem Bastos), the Angolan ambassador's wife Palmira Monteiro, physician Ludovina Zelia, lawyer Justina de Almeida Braganca (her report was delivered by economist Ariete Ginga). Speaking on the part of Russia were experts Olga Sukhova, Svetlana Stulova, Olga Myaeots and Olga Shub.

The academic conference was concluded with a presentation of the writer Cho do Guri's book «Industrial District, My Story».

The Feminine Culture Week of March 2005 in Russia comprised also two demonstrations of the Angolan film director Maria Joao Ganga's movie «Empty Town», with its subsequent discussion. The discussion was successfully presided over by the Angolan actress Pulquéria Van-Dúnem Bastos.
